The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) announced that Catalina Padilla,
UT System Audit
Office Senior Auditor, has earned a William S.
Smith Certificate of Honor Award for outstanding performance on
the May 2006 Certifed Internal Auditor (CIA) examination.
Catalina scored in the top 30 out of 17,000 candidates
who took the
examination.
Catalina joined the Audit Office in May 2004, after receiving her BBA
and PPA from UT Austin. She is no stranger to exam excellence,
in May 2005 she passed all parts of the CPA exam on
her first attempt.
Only three auditors from the UT System have received this award since
the CIA exam was initiated almost 20 years ago. Those individuals
had an average of over 20 years of auditing experience
prior to taking the exam.
