HUB Technical Assistance Program

The mission of the HUB Technical Assistance Program is to increase HUB participation at UT System through the coordination and delivery of technical assistance, training, and information that enhances the business capacity of HUB firms pursuing these opportunities.

Program Goals

  • Provide technical assistance and training tools that address major barriers to HUBs in construction, professional and other services, and commodities including financing, bonding, marketing, safety, insurance and proposal response.
  • Provide information on resources available that can assist HUBs
  • Stay abreast of issues that may impact HUB firms in the surety, banking, insurance, and construction industries.

Primary Technical Assistance

  • Assistance with obtaining payment and performance bonds
  • Assistance with obtaining working capital loans
  • Assistance with marketing

To participate in the Technical Assistance Program, a firm must be certified as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) by the state or be 51% owned, managed, and controlled by minorities and/or women willing to become certified. Non-certified businesses can be assisted with obtaining HUB certification through the Technical Assistance Program.
