Statement on A. W. "Dub" Riter, Jr. |
|
Statement from Chancellor Yudof:
"All of us in The University of Texas System mourn the passing of a great man, a true friend and passionate advocate for higher education - Dub Riter. He served the community of Tyler, the System and all of Texas in so many ways through the years as a community and business leader, head of the development boards for both U.T. Tyler and U.T. Health Center Tyler, chair of the Board of Directors of the University of Texas Investment Management Company, and as vice chair of the Board of Regents. His unwavering support for higher education has immeasurably affected the lives of students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters for decades and decades to come. He was a man of vision, dedication, compassion and spirit who strove to improve the lives of all he touched in his every endeavor. All of us will miss this great champion. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loving wife, B.J., and the entire family in this sad moment. " |
