SUMMARY

Purpose/Scope: To provide general administrative assistance in support of daily departmental operations.

 

DUTIES

Essential Functions:

·         Opens, sorts, and distributes mail.

·         Receives, screens, and routes calls.

·         Maintain databases and files

·         Manage records, including leave reports, time reports, and other personnel reports.

·         Prepares, types, and edits correspondence and presentations.

·         Maintains calendars.

·         Schedules travel, makes travel arrangements, and processes travel reimbursements, including expenses and vouchers.

 

Other Functions:

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISION

Received:  Work is performed under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

 

Provided:  None          

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High school diploma or GED equivalent.         

 

Experience:  1 year secretarial or administrative experience required.

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities:   Knowledge of standard office practices.  Excellent customer service skills.  Ability to use standard office equipment such as copy machines, multi-line telephones, and fax machines.  Ability to use standard personal computer.  Ability to perform basic tasks using the Microsoft Office Suite.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Exposure to standard office conditions.  Required repetitive use of keyboard at workstation.  Some lifting or moving may be required.
