Quinton's Story
Quinton Henderson is a young man with big ambition and -- thanks to a comprehensive financial aid package at UT San Antonio -- is well on his way to a great future.
Born and raised in Houston, Quinton attended Middle College for Technology Careers, a magnet high school located on the campus of Texas Southern University, and was accepted to seven other universities besides UTSA. “My mom told me about UTSA and I wanted to go away to school but I didn’t want to go someplace too far -- and my grandparents live here. Plus, UTSA was not as expensive as I thought it would be.”
Quinton is taking a full load, has a 3.1 GPA and a work-study position in the UTSA Office of Student Affairs, and is on pace to graduate within four years.
“I’ve always had a profound interest in urban planning, ever since I was little,” said Quinton. “I love looking at skylines and how people interact with the city and how it just works.”
After undergraduate work in geography, Quinton hopes to earn his masters in urban planning. Speaking of UTSA, he said, “It’s been great so far and I just hope to continue to do well. I am very blessed for this opportunity.”
