UT Benefits for Employees: Plan Year 2013-2014

Disability Insurance

Disability insurance replaces a portion of your income if you suffer a prolonged illness or non-work related injury that prevents you from doing your job. Dearborn National provides short-term disability (STD) and long-term disability (LTD) insurance benefits for active UT System employees. This benefit is not available for dependents.

Benefits under STD and LTD will be reduced by deductible sources of income or other disability benefits received from other sources. Your total disability pay, including other sources of income, cannot be more than 60% of your weekly earnings.

You can enroll in STD or LTD without completing EOI during the first 31 days of your initial period of eligibility or within 31 days of a qualified change of status event.

If you are adding disability insurance during Annual Enrollment, EOI will be required.
