As an employee or retired employee enrolled in the self-funded UT SELECT medical plan, the self-funded UT SELECT DENTAL plan, or one of the UT FLEX flexible spending accounts, you and your covered dependents are entitled to a copy of The University of Texas System "Notice of Privacy Practices."
In 2009, the Department of Health and Human Services (“HHS”) issued interim regulations governing the HIPAA Medical Privacy, Security, Breach Notification, and Enforcement Rules. Earlier this year, HHS issued the final regulations, which became effective September 23, 2013, replacing the 2009 interim regulations.
