NEW Enhancement to UT SELECT Medical Plan!
Effective September 1, 2012, as an additional network option, the UT System Office of Employee Benefits (OEB) would like to introduce a new collaborative pilot program with The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (UTSW) called the UTSW Network.
What is the UTSW Network Benefit?
The UTSW Network is an enhancement to the UT SELECT plan design. Under this new network, out-of-pocket costs can be greatly reduced or eliminated when UT SELECT members receive treatment and services through UT Southwestern providers and facilities.
For services offered by UT Southwestern providers and facilities, benefits include:
- $10 primary care and $10 specialist office visit copayment,
- No out-of-pocket cost for inpatient or outpatient care,
- No deductible, and
- No coinsurance.
Please note: the emergency room copayment of $150 remains applicable when receiving emergency care at UTSW.
Is the new UTSW Network enhancement only for UT Southwestern employees?
No. All UT System employees, retirees and dependents who are enrolled in the UT SELECT Medical plan are eligible to participate in the UTSW Network pilot program.
Do I need to enroll in the UTSW Network to take advantage of this new cost effective network enhancement?
No. The enhanced benefits available through the UTSW Network are part of the UT SELECT Medical plan. UT SELECT members will continue to have access to the same UT SELECT benefit design as always, with the added feature of the UTSW Network level of benefits.
More information about the UTSW Network will be available on the OEB website soon.
