Wrap-up on the 82nd Legislative Session: Effects on the UT SELECT Medical Plan
The 82nd Regular Session of the Texas Legislature ended on May 30th. With the commencement of a special session on May 31st, the UT System Office of Employee Benefits (OEB) is currently waiting to determine what impact the special session will have on the UT Benefits program.
Within the next few weeks, based on expected funding and other requirements, OEB expects to finalize the UT SELECT Medical plan design and premium levels for the upcoming 2011-2012 plan year. Every effort is being made to keep out-of-pocket costs as low as possible while providing robust protection and balancing the coverage needs of all eligible employees and retirees at each UT institution, and their eligible family members. OEB will be providing information about the UT SELECT Medical plan for the upcoming plan year as soon as possible.
It is important for employees and retirees to keep contact information (particularly email addresses) up to date throughout the year, especially during the Annual Enrollment period, so we can keep you up to date on changes affecting your UT SELECT Medical plan coverage. If you know of other employees or retirees who are not receiving this newsletter electronically, please encourage them to contact the HR or Benefits office at their institution to update their email address.
