Stay up-to-date on the 82nd Legislative Session
The 82nd Session of the Texas Legislature will continue through May 30th with thousands of bills now actively moving through the legislative process. Because many bills remain in the early stages of consideration, it is still too soon to predict exactly which ones may become laws and which will not.
As the final weeks of the regular session wind down, OEB continues to closely monitor the legislative process, with an emphasis on bills with the potential to affect the UT Benefits program. In other articles included within this newsletter, you can read more about the upcoming Annual Enrollment period as well as upcoming changes related to federal healthcare reform. Additional information about what you can expect for the 2011-2012 plan year based on state legislative changes will be provided as soon as more specific details become available.
Remember, it is especially important for all employees and retirees to keep contact information (particularly email addresses) up to date during these next few months. If you know of other employees or retirees who are not receiving this newsletter electronically, please encourage them to contact the HR or Benefits office at their institution to update their email address.
