    UTMB awarded $4.4 million to develop universal flu vaccine

    UT Medical Branch Galveston researchers and Seattle-based biotechnology company Etubics Corporation are working together to construct, produce and test a vaccine containing various antigens of the A and B strains of influenza. If successful, one shot could inoculate an individual for life.

    New UT Arlington research could improve pharmaceuticals testing

    A University of Texas at Arlington chemistry professor, renowned for his work in the area of chemical separations, is leading an effort to find a more accurate way to measure water content in pharmaceuticals – a major quality issue for drug manufacturers.

    Former UTHSC-Houston president gives inaugural Rodney Rogers Memorial Lecture

    Chancellor and UT System employees honored during ceremony

    The University of Texas System recently recognized 96 employees for their years of service ranging from 5 to 35 and for their efforts in helping make the UT System a national leader in higher education. The annual Employee Awards Program concluded with a special tribute to Chancellor Francisco G. Cigarroa, M.D., for his many varied and tremendous achievements during the past five years.

    UT System Office of Academic Affairs hosts 2014 All-Texas Academic Team Awards

    UT Southwestern researcher receives 2014 Norman Hackerman Award

    Benjamin P. Tu, Ph.D., associate professor of biochemistry at UT Southwestern Medical Center, was honored on March 27 with the 2014 Norman Hackerman Award in Chemical Research. Tu was recognized for innovative studies of once-unappreciated molecules that may someday improve treatments for cancer or conditions associated with aging.

    UT Dallas study reveals key to maintaining brain health

    A study conducted by psychologists at The University of Texas at Dallas reveals intellectual engagement that involves actively learning new things is the key to maintaining brain health. The study is published in the January issue of Psychological Science.
