September 5, 2001	Chairman Charles Miller meets with officers of the Employee Advisory Council and the Faculty Advisory Council to discuss the search
September 21, 2001	Counsel and Secretary to the Board Francie A. Frederick meets with the Student Advisory Council to discuss the search
September 24, 2001	Office of the Board of Regents issues Request for Proposals for search firm with responses due on October 8, 2001
October 19, 2001	Contract awarded to Spencer Stuart to provide assistance with the search process
November 8, 2001	Board of Regents' Chairman Miller issues statement on search for a new Chancellor and appoints the Board as a Committee of the Whole to conduct search
December 2001 through May 2002	Meetings with higher education leaders
May 8, 2002	Board of Regents discusses possible candidates in Executive Session meeting
May 31, 2002	Mark G. Yudof, President of the University of Minnesota, named as sole finalist for Chancellor position
