At this year's annual meeting, Chancellor's Council members enjoyed meeting exceptional students from across the UT System and gained a glimpse into the kind of talent, passion and determination found on all 15 UT campuses. With fields of study spanning the arts and sciences, these students represented our next generation of leaders, UT's Best in Class.

Chancellor's Council Executive Committee Winter Meeting || January 28-29, 2011
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas

Chancellor Cigarroa went back to his alma mater and members of the Chancellor's Council Executive Committee (CCEC) became medical students for the day, complete with a series of pop quizzes! President Daniel K. Podolsky and members of his world-renowned faculty at the UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas put together an extraordinary program that enabled our members to learn about everything from bariactric surgery to next-generation treatments for Alzheimer's. The program highlighted the remarkable medical training, research and patient care that ensures UT Southwestern is continually recognized as one of the nation's premier research and primary care medical centers.

Chancellor's Council Executive Committee Fall Meeting || October 15-16, 2010

As our Chancellor's Council Executive Committee discovered, a victory makes every journey all the more worthwhile. Over the course of the weekend, our CCEC members had an opportunity to hear from Chancellor Cigarroa and UT System executive leadership about key issues that may impact the UT System and public higher education across the state during the upcoming legislative session.

With health care on the top of all of our minds, the 43rd Annual Chancellor's Council Meeting and Symposium highlighted efforts to improve patient safety and quality of care in Texas. Executive Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs Kenneth I. Shine joined Chancellor Cigarroa and presidents from UT System health institutions for a compelling symposium that outlined programs underway across the state to improve efficiencies and quality from the waiting room to the operating room.

Members of the Chancellor’s Council Executive Committee (CCEC) joined Chancellor Cigarroa, President John Mendelsohn and members of his world-renowned faculty and staff at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for an outstanding program centered around UT MD Anderson’s mission of Making Cancer History®. With opportunities to meet and speak with the experts working on the front lines in fighting cancer, the Winter Meeting was both dynamic and informative.
