The Chancellor’s Council Executive Committee is the core leadership group that provides direct support and counsel to the Chancellor. The group convenes
several times annually and engages in dialogue with the Chancellor regarding special initiatives and issues of importance to higher education in Texas. Membership in the Executive Committee is by nomination only.

This past January, The CCEC gathered in San Antonio and enjoyed learning more about The University of Texas San Antonio campus and how it has risen to become one of Texas' emerging research institutions. From listening to faculty and staff speak about ground-breaking research to meeting players from UTSA's brand-new NCAA Division 1 football team, the Game Changers at UTSA demonstrated why their institution stands out in the classroom, in the lab and on the field.

In Fall 2011, the CCEC met in Los Angeles to cheer on the Longhorns as they played the UCLA Bruins at the Rose Bowl. The exciting weekend also provided opportunities for members to explore the J. Paul Getty Museum, get a behind-the-scenes tour of Paramount Studios and enjoy Los Angeles' dining scene.
