Robert F. Bacon, MHA is the Director & Billing Compliance Officer for the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Mr. Bacon is responsible for the administration of the compliance program to include communication, education, auditing and monitoring. In addition, Mr. Bacon is the Director of the Professional Liability Program and chairs the University of Pennsylvania Health System CDM Committee.
Bob has over 25 years of progressive health care management experience including compliance, reimbursement, managed care, professional liability programs and accounting. Bob played an active role in defending the Clinical Practices of the University of Pennsylvania and the Presbyterian Medical Center to representatives from the Office of the Inspector General throughout the years of the corporate integrity agreement.
Bob has an MS degree in Health Care Administration from Saint Joseph’s University where he continues to teach as a part-time instructor in the Graduate Health Administration program. Professional affiliations include Association of American Medial Colleges (AAMC) as an active member of the Compliance Officers Forum, board member and chair the Compliance Committee of Metropolitan Philadelphia Chapter Healthcare Financial Management (HFMA), Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), and the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). Bob is also a board member of the Institute of Catholic Bioethics at Saint Joseph’s University.
Bob lectures nationally on the multiple topics within compliance and has published related articles in Nancy Maguire's Coding Billing Expert and Healthcare Financial Management (HFMA). |
