Carole Stern Switzer is the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of the Open Compliance and Ethics Group (OCEG), a not for profit organization established to develop a common framework for effective management of corporate compliance and ethics programs. Ms. Switzer has worked with experts in all aspects of compliance, covering subject s such as governance, employment, financial assurance, and information privacy, to develop specific guidelines for policies, personnel structures, training and evaluation of compliance systems and tools. In addition, Ms. Switzer has maintained an active national law practice for over 20 years, with emphasis on safety, hazardous waste, and contaminated site remediation. She has represented multi-national clients and provides counseling regarding operational compliance with safety regulations. Ms. Switzer also has extensive experience in complex, multi-party litigation regarding site remediation and compliance enforcement claims; regulatory and legislative representation; participation in legislative negotiations; and argument of challenges to federal rules. Ms. Switzer has served on the Counsel of the American Bar Association Section on Environment, Energy and Resources, and has been appointed by the president of the ABA to a three year term on the ABA Standing Committee on Environmental Law. She has authored numerous articles and books addressing environmental regulatory compliance and requirements. |
