Margaret (Peggy) B. Zapalac is currently the Director University Risk Management in the University Risk and Compliance Office at Texas A&M University. She has worked for Texas A&M for 15 years beginning as a Supervisory Auditor and then Assistant Director in the University's Internal Audit Department. In 1999, she transitioned from conducting internal audits to performing management advisory projects in the newly formed Management Advisory Services Office. As a management advisor, she performed various projects related to business process improvement; organizational structures; effectiveness and efficiency; compliance; internal reviews; consultations, and best practice reviews. Currently as Director of University Risk Management, Peggy leads the implementation of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) at Texas A&M University and continues to oversee management advisory projects. Prior to working at Texas A&M University, Peggy was an Audit Manager with KPMG, a public accounting firm. Although she is a CPA (Certified Public Accountant), she doesn't do taxes and uses the EZ forms whenever possible.
