Adding a Dependent

Similarly to adding a Subscriber, there is a delay from the time you enter the Dependent's information in your component's eligibility system to the time that information is relayed to the vendors. This is due to the time it takes for your component's dataset to be sent to and processed byEGI and the time it takes for EGI to create and send a dataset to the vendor.

Again, you may want or need to get the dependent’s information into SGELIG more quickly to address a medical emergency or other eligibility issue. As with adding a Subscriber, you will not only need to update your component’s eligibility system, but also update SGELIG manually online.

If the Subscriber has multiple Dependents who need to be added to SGELIG, repeat the process below for each Dependent.

All eligibility maintenance is done through the 111 screen or using the Add Dependent function in the View/Change One Record function of SGELIG on the web. Click here for SGELIG on the Web help for Adding a Dependent.
