If an active Subscriber needs only certain coverages terminated, use the Change Subscriber's Coverage function.

If a Subscriber is terminated, but any of the coverage termination dates are incorrect, see the Change Subscriber's Termination Date function.

Information required to terminate a Subscriber in *SGELIG.

Date format: All dates must be entered in YYYYMMDD format.

Field level help: Each input field offers field level help which provides information concerning what data should be entered.

PF keys: Several helpful functions offered in *SGELIG are accessed through the PF keys. PF1 lists these keys and functions.

Access the 111 Screen

Type ‘111’ in the command line, a space and the Subscriber's SSN. Press ‘Enter.’

Access the Terminate Subscriber function screens

Type ‘TERM’ in the ACTION Command line located in the center of the 111 Screen.

Press Enter.

EMPLOYMENT Screen Enter the date benefits terminate in the BENEFIT TERMINATION DATE field. The benefits termination date must be in YYYYMMDD format. Enter the date employment terminates in the EMPLOYMENT TERMINATION DATE field. The employment termination date must be in YYYYMMDD format.

Press 'Enter.'

The employment and benefits termination dates may not be the same. For example, if a Subscriber terminates employment on 11/15/1999, his/her benefits do not terminate until 11/30/1999, the end of the month.

A Subscriber may be terminated retroactively up to three months prior to the current date.

Confirm Termination

Type 'TERM' when prompted. Press 'Enter.'
