List Records by SSN/Coverage Date/Coverage Type
This function looks at all records on file which include coverage on the date specified and compares six pieces of significant data:

  1. State Agency or Component
  2. Employment Status (ACTive, RETired, etc.)
  3. Relationship Code (01=employee, 04=spouse, etc.)
  4. Zip Code
  5. Plan Code
  6. Coverage Level (SUB, SFM, etc.)
What information can I learn using this function?
  • Quick review or, snapshot, of one coverage for a given insured on a specific date. The information displayed does not include begin or end dates for a coverage. If the subscriber does not have an active (non-termed) record of coverage on file, a message will be displayed indicating that no coverage was found for the date specified.
  • Possible overlaps or dual coverage can be found (e.g. employee changed components and both show active coverage, or an employee has SGELIG records with active coverage as both a RETiree and ACTive employee)

  • If the function finds SGELIG records with 'differences' in the significant data listed above for the same coverage type and date, a message will indicate that 'Multiple Coverage/Status combinations have been found', and a link will be provided to list the differing coverage records. This information can be accessed by clicking on the link or via the final function on the List Records menu -

    List Multiple Coverage/Status Combinations
The rows of data displayed represent 'groupings' of identical records found in SGELIG. In other words, the function compares the 6 significant fields mentioned before on each SGELIG record and, if they are alike, keeps a count of like records and moves on looking for the differences. When a difference is found, a new row is created, counted, and the function continues looking for matches until all SGELIG records for the insured have been found. The resulting list highlights the differences found for the specific coverage type and date you originally input. Each row includes the 'No. Transmissions' field which indicates how many times that matching group of SGELIG records were transmitted to EGI by the component, and the 'Match Cov.' field which tells you how many SGELIG records were found where all the significant fields matched.
