Using the SGELIG Emergency Update Application
The emergency update application (1ER) has been created to allow UT component
representatives to contact Carriers and notify them of updates or requested changes
to existing subscriber coverage records. Information regarding the subscriber coverage
must be provided by the component representative, and a detailed explanation of the
update or requested change must be included. After the information has been provided,
an email will be sent to the selected carrier with the subscriber and coverage information,
and the requested update/changes.
WEB:
To access 1ER from the web, select the "VIEW/CHANGE" option on the navigation bar,
and click the "Send Emergency Update" link:
Enter the SSN of the subscriber with the update/change in the textbox provided, and submit.
If a subscriber record is located for the provided SSN, choose the coverage type that will be updated:
If the subscriber has existing coverage for the selected coverage type, a list of carriers for the subscriber
and coverage type will be provided. Choose the appropriate carrier; the update email will be sent to a
carrier contact.
Choose the emergency code which best reflects the subscriber situation. Choose an "immediate request"
option ONLY if a doctor's appointment is imminent within a week.
Help is provided for all items, and can be accessed by clicking the SSN, Coverage Type, Carrier, or
Emergency Code links.
In the text area, please provide a detailed explanation of the changes/updates that are being requested. It
is important that your explanation is clear enough to allow the carrier contact to understand exactly what
needs to be done in order to make the appropriate updates/changes.
After submitting the explanation, a preview of the email will be shown. The email is composed a header
paragraph, the subscriber information, the emergency type, and the explanation of the requested
updates/changes as provided earlier. If the email is acceptable and ready to be sent, choose the
"YES" radio button and submit.
If the email has been successfully sent, confirmation will be provided, and an update/change for another
subscriber can begin.

To access 1ER from a 3270 session, enter "1ER SSN" on the command line:

The 1ER application can also be accessed from the LAN menu by entering an "R" next to the
requested SSN:

The 3270 application works just as the web works. A subscriber SSN, coverage type, carrier, emergency
code, and personal message must be provided. Help can be accessed with the "?" command. After a
personal message has been provided, the email can be viewed by marking the VIEW EMAIL field. The
email can be sent by marking the SEND EMAIL field with a 'Y'.
