Originally built in 1936 as home of the Austin-American Statesman, The Colorado Building was home of Austin's newspaper of record until 1953. It was first designed as a three-story building, but as the needs of the paper grew, it was remodeled to its current six floors. It has been part of the UT System since 1991.
