The University of Texas System has made a commitment to do our part to save energy and help protect the environment. UT System staff have pledged to change one or more standard light bulbs in their homes with Energy Star rated Compact Florescent Lamps!
It's a small step that's already making a big difference. We could save 141,000 kWh of electricity and prevent 204,500 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions, one lamp at a time!

The University of Texas System Administration Complex had an estimated energy cost of $750,000 for fiscal year 2006-2007. The City of Austin encourages conservation by offering rebates for special projects.
