submitting a poster? here’s how:
The poster sessions will be an opportunity for informal scientific interactions with your colleagues. We have planned 1½ hour poster sessions on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 21 & 22. Poster presenters will be assigned a session to present their work. The other day will allow viewing the posters of others.
Poster submissions must be submitted via email to Susan Onion, conference coordinator, at sonion@utsystem.edu. Each abstract submission should identify one of these general subject themes: genetics, molecular genomics (microarrays), proteomics, systems biology, pathway analysis, molecular imaging, molecular therapeutics, or translational research. Poster abstracts will be posted on the website prior to the symposium, and will also be printed and made available to the symposium attendees.
If you would like your abstract to be considered for a “Data Blitz” session, please indicate that when submitting your poster. The Data Blitz sessions will be Monday, Feb. 21 and will be an oral rapid-fire 5-minute presentation of your work. The organizing committee will review these and issue invitations for Data Blitz sessions in early February.
The deadline for abstract submission is Feb. 1. Poster boards for pinning or tacking your poster will be made available in the poster exhibit hall.
Abstracts can be submitted as a Microsoft word (or RTF) formatted
file or in the body of an email. Each submission should include the author’s
full name, the intended subject theme, and if the abstract is to be considered for a
DataBlitz session.
The suggested format is:
First line: title of abstract in title case format (bold font).
Second line (and following): authors (presenter or presenters indicated by underline) and institutional affiliation(s).
Last line: source of research support, if applicable.
Abstract should be approximately 300 words long and should not exceed one page in length.
Each abstract should contain methods, findings and general conclusions. Avoid excessive use of special characters.
