submitting a poster? here's how:
The poster session will be an opportunity for informal scientific interactions with colleagues. Posters will be presented during a reception at the conclusion of the first day of the symposium, Wednesday, April 5 at 4:45 p.m.
Abstracts submitted by March 17, 2006 by students and postdoctoral fellows residing outside of Galveston will be considered on a competitive basis for a travel honorarium covering the costs of accommodations during the meeting and travel up to $200. Tanox, Inc. has generously provided funds to make these travel grants possible. In addition, the top winner in each of the three major topic areas (pathogen discovery, antimicrobials/antivirals, and vaccines) will be given the opportunity to present his/her research orally during a plenary session of the symposium. All posters submitted (including from students and postdocs in Galveston) will be considered for the presentation slots.
Abstract submissions must be submitted via email to Susan Onion, conference coordinator, at sonion@utsystem.edu. Each abstract submission should identify one of these general subject themes: pathogen discovery, antimicrobials or vaccines.
The deadline for abstract submission is March 17, 2006. Poster boards for pinning or tacking your poster will be made available in the poster exhibit area.
Suggested format:
First line: title of abstract in title case format (bold font) and subject area
Second line (and following): authors (presenter or presenters indicated by underline) and institutional affiliation(s).
Last line: source of research support, if applicable.
Abstracts should not exceed 300 words or one page in length, and should be submitted as a Microsoft word (or RTF) file, using a 12 point Times New Roman font.
Each submission should include the author’s full name and the intended subject theme and contain methods, findings and general conclusions.
