Featured guests for the Wellness Symposium include keynote speakers Dr. Darwin R. Labarthe,
director of the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention,
Coordinating Center for Health Promotion at the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention in Atlanta, and Dr. David L. Lakey, commissioner
of the Texas Department of State Health Services.
Other speakers attending are Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, UT
System Chancellor Mark G. Yudof and Dr. Eduardo Sanchez,
director of the Institute for Health Policy at the UTHSC-Houston
School of Public Health and former state health department
commissioner.
Also, leaders from various businesses which have launched initiatives
of their own to promote prevention will be symposium participants.
