Services
As noted in the Mission Statement, the UT ISC exists primarily to promote
collaboration amongst those charged with information security responsibilities
on UT campuses. Hence, the primary ‘services’ offered to members
are toward this end:
- Attend quarterly meetings
at a cost of transportation and lodging; CPE and CISSP continuing education
credits are offered
- Participate in the ‘utinfosec’
listserv to receive email about security threats, suggestions, questions
from others, or post questions and/or concerns to peers
- Participate in one of the
Task Forces formed by the ISC to deal with issues best investigated
and discussed by a smaller group
- Get to know (and commiserate
with) professional peers and, hence, develop personal contacts for issues
that arise between meetings
