AUSTIN – Pamela K. Clayton has been promoted to assistant vice chancellor for finance in The University of Texas System. She succeeds John A. Roan, who accepted a position as vice president for financial affairs at U.T. Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.

Ms. Clayton joined the U.T. System administration in June 1982 and has served as an accountant, financial analyst, finance officer, and director of finance.

In her new position, she will oversee the U.T. System's debt management, which includes analysis of projects, debt issuance, financial market trends, and debt capacity for maintaining the U.T. System's high credit ratings.

She also will be responsible for providing oversight to the System's 15 component institutions regarding cash management and investment of local funds.

"The U.T. System is indeed fortunate to have the benefit of Ms. Clayton's outstanding knowledge and skills in overseeing the critically important operations related to debt management," said R.D. (Dan) Burck, executive vice chancellor for business affairs.
