Delta Air Lines Selects UT TeleCampus as Educational Partner

AUSTIN - Under a new partnership announced today (Monday, September 23) employees of Delta Air Lines and affiliate companies and their families will have tuition-reimbursed access to the award-winning online MBA program offered by the UT TeleCampus, the University of Texas System's support center for online learning.

"The UT TeleCampus is interested in working with corporations dedicated to their employees' ongoing education," said Darcy Hardy, director of the UT TeleCampus and assistant vice chancellor of the U.T. System.

"We are pleased to announce Delta Air Lines and its educational support unit, Delta U, have selected the UT TeleCampus as one of only a handful of strategically chosen educational partners working to bring graduate coursework to Delta employees and their families." Delta is the first formal corporate partnership for the UT TeleCampus.

The 48-hour General Management MBA degree can be earned from one of seven participating U.T. System campuses entirely at a distance. The portability of the program is a key benefit for Delta U students, allowing them to log in to their virtual classrooms from anywhere in the world. Courses run semester-to-semester, but allow students flexibility to choose when during the day or week to study.

The U.S. Distance Learning Association honored the MBA Online program for achievement in the field of distance learning by naming it the recipient of its prestigious 2001 Excellence in Distance Learning Programming - Higher Education Award. The national association recognized the TeleCampus' commitment to outstanding and comprehensive distance learning program services.

Students in the online degree programs offered via the UT TeleCampus have access to around-the-clock tech support; a digital library and assistance from the digital librarian; free online tutoring; and other support services. Student services personnel are also available via toll-free phone or email to assist with admissions and registration.

"Delta U selected the MBA Online offered via the UT TeleCampus as an alternative solution to classroom learning," said Hardy. "Their commitment to their employees is clear and their selection of the UT TeleCampus is an honor for us. We look forward to a long and fulfilling partnership and hope this program will serve as a viable model for other corporations interested in accredited online educational opportunities for their employees."

Active full and part-time personnel at Delta Air Lines are eligible for educational assistance.
