Regents' Committees to Meet January 6 - 7

Agendas for next week's meetings of Committees of the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System are available on the system's web site at www.utsystem.edu/bor/meetings.htm.

The committees will meet in on Monday and Tuesday, January 6 - 7, on the 9th Floor of Ashbel Smith Hall, 201 W. 7th Street, Austin.

A brief special meeting of the full board has also been scheduled. It will be at 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday.

Parking for the news media will be available at the guard kiosk on Colorado Street between 7th Street and 6th Street.

The meeting schedule is as follows:

Monday, January 6

2 - 3:30 p.m. - Facilities Planning and Construction Committee. The agenda includes design/development approvals for construction projects, a review of three "architecturally significant" projects, and amendments to the system Capital Improvement Program.

3:30 - 5 p.m. - Student, Faculty, and Staff Campus Life Committee. The agenda includes a discussion of campus speech and assembly issues and a discussion of privacy issues related to use of Social Security numbers.

Tuesday, January 7

7:30 - 8:30 a.m. - Internal Audit and Compliance Subcommittee. The agenda includes discussion of audit reports.

8:30 - 10:30 a.m. - Finance and Planning Committee. The agenda includes a review of proposed changes in investment policies.

10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. (overlaps with next committee) - Health Affairs Committee. The agenda includes a report on post-tenure reviews of faculty at the system's health science institutions and a joint meeting with the Academic Affairs Committee on state performance measures.

11:20 - 11:40 a.m. and 12:30 - 2 p.m. (overlaps with preceding committee) - Academic Affairs Committee. The agenda includes a report on the flat tuition pilot project at U. T. Austin.

Tuesday, January 7

11:40 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Special meeting of the full board. The agenda includes discussion of a proposed Mental Sciences Institute at the U. T. Health Science Center at Houston and approval of a National Biocontainment Laboratory at the U. T. Medical Branch at Galveston.
