Regents to Meet in Austin on July 7

The Board of Regents of the University of Texas System will hold a special called meeting at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 7, in Austin. The meeting will be on the 9th floor of Ashbel Smith Hall, 201 W. 7th Street.

Parking for the news media will be available at the guard kiosk on Colorado Street between 7th and 6th Streets.

Agenda items include:

• Possible selection of a consultant to study ways for U.T. System academic institutions to expand their research capabilities.
• Review of a revised mission statement for the U.T. System.
• Review of proposals for simplifying the Regents' Rules and Regulations.
• Review of a possible sale of land belonging to the U.T. Health Science Center at San Antonio and a possible ground lease on land belonging to U.T. Austin.
