Yudof to Announce New Financial Aid Website, Resource for Texans

University of Texas System Chancellor Mark G. Yudof will announce on Monday (Nov. 24) the launching of TexasCollegeMoney.org, a new website that informs students and parents that college is possible and within their reach and financial support is available.

The website - http://www.texascollegemoney.org - encourages Texas high school juniors to attend college by providing personal and specific financial aid information for all nine U.T. academic campuses.

High school students will be at the event to demonstrate the website and receive subsequent counseling from professionals with the U.T. Austin Office of Student Financial Services.

"We hope that over time TexasCollegeMoney will help increase college enrollment and reverse the perception that college is out of reach," said Larry Burt, director of the Office Student Financial Services at U.T. Austin, which will administer the project. "By providing an accurate estimate of financial aid as well as detailing the costs of education to students early in their junior year of high school, we give confidence to families that college is possible and support is available."

The announcement will be made at 3 p.m. and be conducted on the 9th floor of Ashbel Smith Hall, 201 W. 7th Street. Parking for the news media will be available at the guard kiosk on Colorado Street between 7th Street and 6th Street.
