UT System News Media Advisory

NEWS MEDIA AVAILABILITY RESCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY

Legislative Actions to be Discussed
Telephone Hook-Up Available for Out-of-Town Reporters

Because of scheduling problems, a news media availability that the University of Texas System had planned for this afternoon has been reset for Tuesday, June 3, 2003.

The news media availability will be at 2:00 p.m. (CDT). U.T. System Chancellor Mark G. Yudof and other officials will be available to answer questions concerning actions taken by Texas lawmakers during the 78th Legislative Session.

The previously announced guidelines are still in effect for Tuesday, as follows:

  • Reporters will be able to participate either in person or by telephone. The meeting will be in the 9th floor conference room of Ashbel Smith Hall, 201 West 7th Street, Austin, Texas.
  • Reporters in Austin are asked to attend in that room in order to free up telephone ports for out-of-town reporters.
  • Out-of-town reporters may take part by calling 1-877-232-4392 by 1:50 p.m. CDT, on Tuesday. The participant code is 256160. An AT&T operator will connect callers. (See next paragraph for further instructions.)
  • Reporters who wish to take part in the news conference by telephone are asked to call Anthony de Bruyn at (512) 499-4363 at least by 1:00 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, so we will know who to expect. We don't want to start without you.

Parking for media: Parking is available at the U.T. System guard kiosk at the alley on Colorado Street between 7th and 6th streets.

We will issue a news release soon after the meeting. See http://www.utsystem.edu/news/.
