Regents to Meet in Austin on July 16

The Board of Regents of The University of Texas System will hold a special called meeting at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 16, in Austin. The meeting will be on the 9th floor of Ashbel Smith Hall, 201 W. 7th Street.

Parking for the news media will be available at the guard kiosk on Colorado Street between 7th and 6th Streets.

The Agenda Book for the meeting is available online.

Agenda items include:

• Discussion of Library, Equipment, Repair, and Rehabilitation funding
• Discussion of issues related to a potential bid for management of the Los Alamos National Laboratory
• Discussion and appropriate action related to hiring an external auditor to provide financial audit services for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2005
• The approval of an appointment of a Regental representative to the Texas Growth Fund
• The approval of an appointment of a member of the Board of Regents to serve on the board of directors of The University of Texas Investment Management Company (UTIMCO)
• Discussion and appropriate action regarding a proposed recipient for the Santa Rita Award, the highest award that is bestowed by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System
