| Regents approve $32 million for construction projects
BROWNSVILLE – Funding and design approval for a new student housing at the UT Health Science Center at Houston was among $32 million in construction projects authorized by the Board of Regents of the University of Texas System on Wednesday. The student housing project in Houston is a $22.5 million, 315-unit apartment complex. The completion date is August 2005.
The regents also approved funding and design plans for a $9.45 million parking garage at UT San Antonio, in addition to a new academic building currently under construction. Completion of the garage is scheduled for March 2005.
The board also received a revised campus master plan for UT Tyler. The updated plan will guide the university as it accommodates a projected increase in enrollment of almost 50 percent by 2012. Enrollment last fall was 4,783, and projections are for at least 7,000 students by 2012. |
