Statement by Chairman James Richard Huffines on the Appointment of Robert B. Rowling to the UT Board of Regents

AUSTIN – James Richard Huffines, chairman of The University of Texas System Board of Regents, issued the following statement today (July 20) regarding the appointment of Robert B. Rowling of Dallas to the UT Board of Regents. Governor Rick Perry appointed Rowling to the board, replacing Charles Miller who announced his resignation on May 12.

Statement from Chairman Huffines:

“Governor Perry's appointment of Bob Rowling to the UT Board of Regents is good news for all of us in the UT System and for all Texans. Bob's demonstrated business experience and commitment to higher education make him an outstanding choice for this vital leadership position, and I, along with the rest of the board, look forward to serving with him as we continue to meet the challenges of higher education in the state.”
