Statement by Chancellor Mark G. Yudof: Governor's Proposed Emerging Technology Fund
I applaud Gov. Perry and the leadership of Texas for their vision and creativity in recognizing the critical role that higher education plays in charting the course for the economic destiny of our state. Our future will be far more dependent on human resources than natural resources.
This fund will allow Texas to attract and retain the best brain power in the country. Researchers at our universities and health campuses, collaborating with each other and governmental and private sector institutions, will accelerate the creation of new knowledge and inventions and the development of new technologies that will benefit all Texans. |
