UT System Tuition Proposals Available on Website
A special website by The University of Texas System debuted on Monday (March 7) to help inform students, parents, and other members of the public about tuition issues.
The website – www.utsystem.edu/news/tuition/ – includes details about the process that the UT System and its 15 campuses are using to set tuition for fall 2005, information about financial aid, and many other features.
Each campus considering increases in tuition conducted student forums and other activities to ensure broad participation in the process. Tuition and fee proposals from campuses were submitted earlier this year to Chancellor Mark G. Yudof, who will forward them with recommendations to the Board of Regents, which is scheduled to make a decision about the proposals at a special meeting in Austin on Thursday (March 10).
Campus presidents and student body representatives will discuss their campus tuition and fee proposals at the board meeting. The campus tuition proposals will be posted on the UT System tuition website on Monday (March 7) and will be available there for viewing or downloading.
Out-of-town reporters may view the presentations and discussions during open session via a live webcast at mms://media1.utsystem.edu/bor031005. Please make note that you will need Windows Media player to view this webcast. |
