UT System Committee Chairs and Regental Representatives Named

AUSTIN – Several individuals were appointed today (May 12) to serve as chairmen and representatives on the various regental committees of The University of Texas System Board of Regents. The appointments, recommended by Regents’ Chairman Colleen McHugh and approved by the Board, are effective immediately.

UT System Board of Regents committee chairmen are:

• Academic Affairs Committee: Regent Robert L. Stillwell
• Audit, Compliance, and Management Review Committee: Regent R. Steven Hicks
• Facilities Planning and Construction Committee: Regent Printice L. Gary
• Finance and Planning Committee: Vice Chairman Paul L. Foster
• Health Affairs Committee: Vice Chairman Janiece Longoria
• Student, Faculty, and Staff Campus Life Committee: Regent James D. Dannenbaum

The student regent is a nonvoting ex officio member of each standing committee.

Other regental appointments include:

• Regent R. Steven Hicks as the Athletics Liaison
• Regents James D. Dannenbaum and Printice L. Gary as the Regental Representatives on the Board for Lease of University Lands
• Regent James D. Dannenbaum as Liaison to Governor’s Office on Technology Transfer and Commercialization Issues
• Vice Chairman Janiece Longoria as Regental Representative on the M. D. Anderson Services Corporation Board of Directors
• Regent Wm. Eugene Powell as the Regental Representative on the Texas Growth Fund Board of Trustees
• Vice Chairman Janiece Longoria as the Regental Representative for the Type 2 Diabetes Risk Assessment Program Advisory Committee
