UT System Regents to Meet in Austin July 14-15

AUSTIN – The Board of Regents of The University of Texas System will meet Wednesday and Thursday, July 14-15, in Austin. The meetings will be held on the ninth floor of Ashbel Smith Hall, 201 W. 7th Street.

Out-of-town reporters may view the open sessions of the meeting via a live webcast. (Wednesday, Thursday)

Parking for the news media will be available at the guard kiosk on Colorado Street between 7th and 6th Streets.

Wednesday, July 14

The Board will convene in a joint meeting with The University of Texas Investment Management Co. (UTIMCO) Board of Directors at approximately 12:30 p.m. on the ninth floor of Ashbel Smith Hall.

The joint meeting will adjourn at approximately 2:30 p.m.

The UT System Board of Regents will convene in open session on the ninth floor of Ashbel Smith Hall at approximately 2:35 p.m. for a presentation of the UT Academy of Health Science Education.

The Board will recess into executive session at approximately 3:00 p.m. to discuss proposed negotiated gifts, personnel, legal and real estate matters. Any action will be taken in open session.

The Board will recess at approximately 5:00 p.m.

Thursday, July 15

The Board will reconvene in open session at 9:00 a.m.; agenda items include:

  • Discussion and appropriate action to consider a recommendation to rename Simkins Hall and Simkins Park at UT Austin
  • Approval to establish a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree program at UT Health Science Center – San Antonio

The Board may then recess into executive session to discuss legal and personnel matters and then reconvene in open session at approximately 11:30 a.m. for action, if any, on executive session items.

The meeting will adjourn at approximately 11:45 a.m.
