Burgdorf receives General Counsel Forum award

Barry Burgdorf, vice chancellor and general counsel at The University of Texas System, has been recognized for outstanding leadership and management by a statewide lawyer’s group.

Burgdorf on Thursday (Nov. 10) received the Magna Stella Award given by the General Counsel Forum during its 13th annual awards dinner in San Antonio. Burgdorf, who joined the UT System in 2005, was one of four finalists in the non-profit/government agency category.

According to its website, the Forum is an association of roughly 600 general and senior managing counsel representing 360 entities, and is dedicated to career development. Although its membership is mostly in Texas, the organization recently added a chapter in Atlanta.
