If you’re facing diabetes, you know that having the right supplies on hand when you need them is critical to maintaining your health. Recently, the Office of Employee Benefits worked with Express Scripts to enhance the benefits for diabetic testing supplies under both the UT SELECT Prescription plan and the UT SELECT Part D Prescription plan for Medicare-eligible retirees and dependents. For many years, diabetic supplies like testing strips and needles have been available under the UT SELECT Prescription plan with no out-of-pocket costs when filling a prescription for these items at the same time as filling an insulin prescription.
Because supplies come in different quantities and usage can vary, keeping the timing of these orders together could be a bit of a hassle. To make it easier to keep the necessary supplies on hand without having to coordinate all of your orders, you can now get your covered diabetic supplies with no copayment, regardless of whether you are also filling an insulin prescription.
