Systemwide CISO

Helen Mohrmann

Helen Mohrmann serves as the chief information security officer for The University of Texas System. In this capacity she works with each U.T. System institution to continually improve their security posture and capabilities. Her office is responsible for the development and administration of Systemwide policies as well as the assessment and monitoring of systems operated directly by U.T. System Administration, including services shared among institutions.

Ms. Mohrmann has over 25 years of information technology experience in higher education and the non-profit and private sectors. From 2010-2016 she served as the chief information officer for the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. She has also held information technology leadership positions at Cornell University and in the financial services industry.

Ms. Mohrmann has a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, a B.S. from Cornell University, and an A.M. from Harvard University. She is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
