The Office of Marketing and Communications exists to build and enhance The University of Texas’ reputation, support the System’s mission, and keep stakeholders well informed. We share the UT System story through online, print, and interactive resources, conveying the collective impact of its institutions on improving the lives of Texans and people all over the world through education, research, and health care. This is accomplished through several teams:
Marketing and Brand Management manages the UT System brand and its digital and social media presence, producing marketing communications that build the brand and keep UT System constituents and communities informed, educated, and engaged. The team is responsible for building and enhancing the UT System brand to increase awareness, generate support and advocacy, and attract talent through traditional and digital mediums. It supports the UT System’s goals by articulating and advancing the System’s market position, increasing its visibility among key audiences, and coordinating marketing efforts across System offices. It provides and maintains brand guidelines that enable the UT System community to express its brand consistently, concisely, and unmistakably.
Digital Marketing manages the UT System's top-level marketing and online engagement channels, analyzing user behavior and using data to launch and measure creative, strategic campaigns that encourage support and engagement from a wide variety of audiences.
Creative Services produces materials that are relevant, engaging, and aligned with the UT System brand. From brochures to invitations to websites, the team helps translate research and marketing strategy into powerful design across a range of mediums.
Media Relations and External Communications serves as a liaison between The University of Texas System and members of the news media and the general public. The team is responsible for media relations and news placement, including crisis communications, issues management, and news and public information services for the UT System Board of Regents and the UT System executive offices.
Internal Communications develops and executes internal communications activities, including internal e-newsletters and publications for distribution among UT System and its 14 institutions. This function is responsible for communicating UT System’s vision, business priorities, and key initiatives to internal audiences and building partnerships, relationships, and engagement across the System.
Executive and Official Communications is responsible for communications for the UT System Chancellor and senior leadership. The senior speechwriter develops messaging and presentations for town halls, and prepares written remarks for events, speaking engagements, and other forums.
Development Communications produces donor communications, including fundraising appeals, reports, and materials such as invitations, programs, and monthly newsletters related to the Chancellor’s Council, as well as communications for special events.
