1 12/6/85 Amendments to Patent Policy, Part Two, Chapter V, Section 2.4, New Policy Statements & Guidelines The entire Intellectual Property (Patent) Policy was rewritten; Approval of three policies regarding license agreements, sponsored research agreements & marketing.
2 2/14/86 Amendments to Part Two, Chapter V, Sections 2.442, 2.452 & 2.4521 All three subsections were amended to add "or" between each category for classifying discoveries by source of research support.
3 10/9/87 Amendments to Numerous Subsections in Part Two, Chapter V, Section 2.4 Identifies intellectual property which will be owned by Board (Sections 2.452, 2.453); nonsubstantive editorial & clarifying revisions; clarifies Institutional Patent Committee's role & procedures for reviewing submissions; added new subsections regarding equity interests, business participation & reporting requirements; added new subsection regarding BOR approval of agreements having intellectual property on institutional docket.
4 12/3/87 Changes to Policy Regarding License Agreement with Private Entities Approval of Policy & Guidelines Relating to IP License Agreement with Private Entities.
5 10/13/89 The Intellectual Property Patent Policy Internal review requested by two Board of Regents to make IP policy less "restrictive" & "burdensome".
6 12/7/89 Amendments to Part Two, Chapter V, Section 2.49 Added new subdivision describing approval process for agreements that deviate from the Board's IP Policy.
7 6/11/92 Part Two, Chapter V, Section 2.4 was deleted & renamed Part Two, Chapter XII Part Two, Chapter V, Section 2.4 is deleted in its entirety and replaced with Part Two, Chapter XII.  The policy was revised to clarify certain terms & conditions.
8 2/8/96 Amendments to Part Two, Chapter XII, Section 9.3 Minor editorial revisions were made to certain subsections.
9 5/9/96 Amendments to Part Two, Chapter XII, Section 2.3 Expands definition of faculty authored scholarly works & allows faculty member to retain IP rights for scholarly works which are related to faculty's professional field & which are not commissioned by University.
10 8/29/96 Amendments to Part Two, Chapter  XII, Section 9.1 & new Chapter XIII was added to Part Two Amends approval process of legal documents relating to rights in IP; adds new Chapter XIII relating to the delegation of authority for contracts & grants for sponsored research.
11 2/12/98 Amendments to Part Two, Chapter XI, Section 1; Amendments to Part Two, Chapter XII, Sections 2.1, 2.3, 2.4, 2.8, 8.1, 9.1, 9.2, & 9.3 Amendments to Part Two, Chapter XI, Section 1, regarding delegation of authority to the chief administrative officer on behalf of BOR; Amended Chapter XII:  to include students under IP Policy; to broaden application of scholarly works; when BOR will own IP; reporting requirements; approval process for legal documents related to IP.  Added new section 2.8 regarding use of System facilities by inventor after invention is released to inventor.
12 2/12/98 Adds new policy to Part Two, Chapter  XII Adoption of new Policy & Guidelines for Management & Marketing of Copyrighted Works.
13 11/12/98 Amendments to Part Two, Chapter XII, Section 7.1 Deletion of approval requirement "as an agenda item" for section relating to System employees & business participation.
14 5/13/99 Amendments to the Policy & Guidelines Sections Amendments to: Policy & Guidelines for Management & Marketing of IP; and Policy & Guidelines for Negotiation . . . & Approval of Sponsored Research Projects . . .
15 8/12/99 Amendments to Part Two; Chapter XII, Sections 5.22 & 8.1 Amends & simplifies the approval of released inventions; amends reporting requirement to simplify & make consistent with current state law.
16 6/8/02 Amendments to Part Two; Chapter XII Changes were made to the entire Intellectual Property policy and the Regental Policies. Here is a copy of the redlined changes.
