Q: How do I get a verification of employment for a current or past employee of The University of Texas System Administration?

A: Fax a request to (512) 499-4395 Attn: Sarah Hart. VOE's are done as quickly as possible, but please give up to 48 hours for a response.

Q: How do I get a verification of employment for a current or past employee of The University of Texas System Institutions?

A: Contact the Institution where the employee was employed. All institutions answer their own verification of employment requests.

Q: Under what circumstances can I bring my well-trained and well-behaved dog to work with me?

A: Never. Unless the dog is an assistance (seeing or hearing) dog.

A: No. It is necessary to follow the procedures of the policy on telecommuting.

A: No. Donations go to the pool to be disbursed by the Pool Administrator in accordance with policy.

A: With scheduling and approval of the supervisor, each employee is allowed "sufficient time off" to donate blood up to 4 times each fiscal year.

A: False. But a FLSA-exempt employee can earn compensatory time.

Q: True or False? A FLSA-nonexempt employee can earn overtime.

Q: True or False? I'm in a position that earns overtime and I need to work extra to catch up and I don't mind, so it's okay if I don't record the extra hours just that one time.

A: FALSE! A FLSA-nonexempt employee must, in all cases, no exceptions, accurately record all time worked.
