Provide advice and consultation to System departments and components on records management matters and consult with components on records program issues and problems. |

Review changes in state and federal law and related regulations, revise and issue component guidelines and update database. |

Monitor collection and security of records and destruction of documents. |

Transfer records to archives when necessary. |
| 5. | Review component records retention schedules and coordinate communication between the Texas State Library and U. T. System components. |
| 6. | Create and distribute Component Guidelines for Record Retention and work with Records Management Advisory Committee to resolve records management issues. |
