Job Title Financial Reports Manager

Job Purpose To provide advanced administrative and supervisory skills and abilities in the management of the financial reports and complex accounting tasks.
Education and experience required including training, registration, and licensure. Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of 5 years in accounting, financial reporting and/or auditing field.  Certification as a Public Accountant or eligible for certification within 1 year.

1.

Oversee and assist in the completion of reports, including annual, quarterly, and monthly financial reports.

2.

Interpret and ensure compliance with Federal, State, and University policies.

3.

Determine impact of policy statements on the University and recommend distribution of policy statements to component institutions.

4.

Oversee and assist in the preparation of special reports required by governmental agencies, including tax returns.

5.

Supervise accounting personnel in the performance of general accounting duties.

6.

Assign duties, oversee work progress and initiate accounting action necessary to carry out administrative instructions.

7.

Analyze work load and determine work priority.

8.

Oversee and conduct training regarding basic fund accounting and annual report preparation.

9.

Responsible for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, financial information is reliable, and applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures are followed.
