SUMMARY

 

Purpose:          To perform routine accounting, auditing, and analytical assignments involving the verification of compliance with lease agreements and contracts; to enhance revenues of University Lands.

 

DUTIES

 

Essential Functions:

 

·         Performs desk, company and field audits to monitor compliance with oil and gas leases.

·         Reconciles ledgers to verify that royalties have been remitted and discrepancies addressed.

·         Identifies and communicates potential conflicts.

 

Other Functions:

·         May provide customer assistance as knowledge and ability advance.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISION

 

Received:         Work is performed under general supervision of supervisor with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment

 

Provided:         None

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education:       Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field.

 

Experience:      No experience is required.

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

                       

·         Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures affecting the maintenance of accounting records and automated accounting systems.

·         Skill and ability to work accurately with numerical detail and to analyze and interpret accounting data.

·         Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

                       

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

Work is performed in an office setting.  Some outdoor activity and travel is required.
