Job Purpose To develop and implement risk and insurance programs for The University of Texas System.
Education and experience required including training, registration, and licensure. Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 4 years experience in risk management, risk analysis, commercial insurance or commercial real estate appraisal.

1.

Coordinate insurance programs including gathering underwriting data, negotiating policy provisions, procuring insurance policies, maintaining insurance coverage, and tracking and initiating claims procedures.

2.

Analyze contracts between the University and outside vendors and determines the scope and provisions of all insurance required by the University.

3.

Develop and deliver training seminars to System Administration and component institution personnel relating to property and casualty insurance programs.

4.

Respond to requests and provide consulting services to System Administration and component institutions relating to insurance coverage reviews and interpretations of coverages.

5.

Complete property valuations (physical appraisals) for insurance-to-value purposes and participates in discussions with component institutions and carriers to evaluate findings.  Maintains a database of property valuations for the University.

6.

Develop insurance program processes and procedures for implementation of System-wide insurance programs.

7.

Review certificates of insurance and verifies the financial condition of insurers.

8.

Monitor contracts and consultants and other third parties to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
